Davos (Switzerland), 09 December – On December 15 a four-star Spenglers Hotel in Davos will start operating in test mode. Spenglers Hotel will hold open days on December 16 and 17 for all those interested in visiting the hotel complex. The official opening is planned for March 2017. The start of the test mode marks the end of the first stage of a reconstruction project of a 3-star Alexander Grand Hotel into a modern 4-star hotel complex. The hotel complex will be run by an international hotel operator and will consist of 80 rooms with well-developed infrastructure and a complex of 31 apartments serviced by Holsboer Residences (The first stage of the reconstruction process will see the launch of 7 apartments). Holsboer Residences offers spacious one- and two-bedroom apartments, ranging from 60 m² to 128 m², which are made exclusively from natural materials and offer a unique chance to enjoy modern design and homely and comfortable ambiance.

The hotel complex was designed by a world renowned architectural bureau Woods Bagot. Stylish interiors of Spenglers Hotel are complemented by the newest engineering technologies, comfortable rooms, well-developed infrastructure (restaurants, bars, conference-halls, SPA-centre) and top-quality service.

Spenglers Hotel is located in the heart of Davos, 100 metres away from Promenade, the city’s main shopping street. Most of the city’s sights are only a step away from the hotel: Schatzalp cable car station, Vaillant Arena ice rink, where the annual Spengler Cup tournament is held, as well as the congress centre, which regularly holds various international events among which are the World Economic Forum and medical forum Ärzteforum.

Prime location is hotel’s main attraction for its potential visitors. The hotel will first open its doors shortly before the start of the World Economic Forum which is scheduled for the second half of January 2017. All hotel’s services will thus be put to a test prior to the official opening of the hotel in spring. As of today, 20% of the rooms are already booked even though the hotel is only operating in test mode. Hotel management envisages 86% occupancy during the World Economic Forum.

The hotel complex will be brought fully into operation in the third quarter of 2017. The second stage of the reconstruction project will end with the opening of an apartment complex in the two remaining buildings (16 and 8 apartments respectively) and a Wellness centre.
